RDALeaderTraining
right. i'm finally getting down to blogging aboutr da.
which has gone on for... what? many zillions of months?
i think my procrastination streak has reached new heights.
:P
to make-up, this post will be indepth and LONG.
happy, Dawn? lol.
Saturday!
was assigned to tack up J.P.
(johnathan-peter maybe? there's a thought. ahaha.)
he's grouchy about being tacked up!
he actually BUCKED when he was cross tied.
and i had trouble getting him to accept the bit.
like Chuckie! only far worse.
eventually got it in.
with a lot a lot of "help" from Bee.
who really just stood there
and refused to help me.
i suppose that's her way of getting us to learn?
warmup was very good.
did transitions, walk-halt, halt-walk
and a few trots. he's wonderfully responsive!
parking practise was so-so.
but the last one was PERFECT (:
i think J.P's bipolar:
horrid in the stables,
angel in the arena. seriously.
then switched with farhana to sShamus
he's the sweetest thing ever! (:
like shaggy scottish/irish pony cute
he was responsive too.
but he got a little distracted by the construction
towards the end.
Jun didn't have a horse to switch to.
so bee got her to go get a helmet and pretend to be a rider.
caitlin geraint francis and
some sidewalkers who came for training
got to be fake disabled riders tooo!
suzi lead geraint.
and she was trying SO hard not to laugh.
dawn and paint got francis,
who was a horrible fake rider.
stood in the middle with farhana trying
so very hard not to laugh, but really,
all the real-life riders made it a huge hilarious riot. haha
bee then got the remaining leaders to switch again
got rRuby. fast, but very sweet and responsive to voice
she's LOVELY! <3
so she goes in the list with:
mMistoff/Toffee and dear old sweet trotter-wannabe fFraggle (:
Bee then got three sidewalker trainees over
one mounted and the other 2 were sidewalkers.
i think the rider was a tad bit scared but
they were all fun to work with.
so ran through walk-halt and halt-walk
"walk on" and "whoa"
dismounted after a bit
and benghua taught them basic dismount
and how to put stirrups up etc.
then stood around again till bee stole
one of dawn's side walkers over.
bee made her do a thigh hold the whole time. ><
then practised dismounting again.
... without the rider. :P
the session was more or less over after that
lead the horses back to be untacked
and brush the arena sand off their hooves
there was a shortage of stalls though. so
horses like J.P. were untacked in their stalls
who i'm guessing was probably too relieved
to have his tack off to be grumpy about anything.
had to tie MissRuby to the fence next to the paddocks though.
i think she was jealous of mMistoff and the others
happily grazing away. So quickly untacked her
and brushed her off so she won't hate me that much
and put her away.
actual sessions start next week!
we shall put all that training to good use!
... i hope. ><
